How is my English? Language proficiency charts...

5/2/2015

Have you ever wondered what your English proficiency level (İngilizce yeterlilik düzeyiniz) is? There are many different ways of classifying your level of English proficiency AND many different tests available to assess your competency levels.

Here are some of the most popular "Language Proficiency Charts" used around the world for classifying English Proficiency. Since we are almost an EU country (wink, wink), the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR or CEF) seems to be popular these days.  Please ignore all of the acronyms (kısaltmalar) as they add an extra layer of confusion to an already confusing sea of classification systems.

Most importantly, if you are unsure about what you should write on your resumé (CV-özgeçmiş) when it comes to languages, then take a look at the first chart below which outlines what common descriptions on resumes actually mean in terms of the Common European Framework.

What should I write on my CV/Resumé under "languages"?
